Shopping therapy

I opt for neighborhood stores, I still buy household items
from the stores located in my area, I know the staff
and we have a little conversation each time I visit them,
I may get better service in the best case, gratis!
I love this atmosphere of intimacy even if I have to
make all possible maneuvers to park my car otherwise
I have to come back on foot, bringing all kind of
bags , with my mood frazzled!

This is the time where you think about wide shopping malls,
endless parking areas and a whole day spent there, including
a gourmet lunch and a movie to finish off… My favorite
shopping centers in Athens are three, two in the city and
the other is this great outlet I’m showing you today.
Mac Arthur Glen is located near the El.Venizelos
airport. Farmland, mostly vineyards and olive groves,
lie around. The buildings respect the neo-classic Greek
architecture and form a village where there is everything
you want in clothing mostly. All big brands, a huge range
of products at discount prices, reduced by up to 70%!
Graffiti creators show their art live, carousel
and amusement parks, beautiful water chutes and
open air bistros complete a day fulfilled with beauty
and shopping therapy.I share with you my last visit
to this beautiful outlet.
Don't think it's an advertisement, nowhere close!

It’s raining cats and dogs at the moment, those who know me,
understand my joy, cozy time… I’m leaving you, a romantic,
candle light dinner in a new restaurant is waiting for me.
Have a wonderful Sunday and  happy new week!

Autumn beauties

Hi darling!

Why don't you turn it off?

Here I am, in the garden, a solace for the soul....
Even though the gardening season is drawing to a close,
a few blazing garden beauties are still there catching the
eye and cheering the yards . My faded zinnias, late roses
and flourishing yellow daises created this little patch which
lifts your spirits and mood. I’m so happy since I rediscovered
flower power and I now understand how lucky I am to
have a garden…two actually,to tend.
The little posies on which I experimented my new camera,
a Nikon 5200 ,were picked in the country garden;
there are almost no blooms in the town garden except the
bougainvillea and some exiguous geraniums. The weather
continues to be whimsical as we have 28 Celsius in the
middle of October… not so normal but convenientfor my
photo shooting necessities. I’m a beginner, thirsty to
learn photography techniques, I have a better camera
now but it’s a long way for an amateur without help.
Anyway, no big news for the moment.
I’m preparing for a little house party to celebrate my
daughter’s birthday. She wanted a girl party this year
so that’s how that it will be.I’m behind with visiting your
blogs again but it happens, you know how it is.
Wishing you a glorious weekend and
sending you the fragrance of my roses

Look on the yellow side

Do you boost your mood with color? I do.
How does color affect your emotional well being?
Υellow is my mood enhancer.
This colour conjures up images of sunshine,
friendship and happiness and this posy of daisies
filled my home with joy. These late-bloomers  are
the only to cheer the scene in the country garden.

Flowers freshly cut from the garden are always
more impressive than bought flowers I think.
On a dull autumn day, those daisies reminded me
of the warm caress of the summer sun.
Nature seems to know how to console us with the
dimming of the summer light by painting the gardens
in golden hues.

This was in my thoughts when I bought the yellow
trimming and yarn for my crochet cushion.
Yes, crochet mania ... lately, I have been crocheting
like crazy!  Thank you Gill !

And  in the country home now with some gourds

and cross-stitching !
The embroidered apple on the sackcloth was done
in the same spirit of mind and I'm very glad that
it decorates an armchair in our country home.

and satin-stitching
The embroidered birds were designed by me and
realized by my mother where she was younger.

My daughter's baby crib converted to a little sofa.

So, gourds, quinces, pomegranates  and apple cake
complete the theme, induce the autumn atmosphere
and surround me with the last golden
sunbeams of the season.

“As a picture painted in yellow always radiates spiritual warmth,
or as one in blue has apparently a cooling effect, so green
 is only boring.”
 Wassily Kandinsky

May your autumn be mellow yellow!
And look on the bright, yellow side!
Sending love,
O
