A colour wheel

These days I have thoroughly enjoyed playing with the whole
colour wheel approaching to blue schemes and nuances, spicing
up the home with a splash of summer colours. Before, I was
lukewarm on blue, tomuch azure in Greece
But, I definitely like it now, in a delicate measure though.

It was love at first sight!
Shape, shade and price lend themselves perfectly for this
beautiful pair of china tea cups. Lately, thrift stores can
seldom delight my senses as I have the feeling that there
is more and more tacky, overpriced stuff all around.
You might strike gold one time and return constantly with
empty hands for months. This time I was lucky enough!

The first bouquet of vibrant, summer flowers

My Pip collection becomes richer. I like pairing pretty
colours together and how it all fits on the colour wheel.

I also picked the following coffee mugs from Ikea to which
I intend to offer the destiny of flowerpots for succulents.

In the country garden, there are now clutches and clutches of
lavender to harvest. How beautiful they are and what a great sent
they create barely touched! Soapy and ripe, just the perfect fragrance
for the dried posies. I should have them cut nonetheless.

Endless combinations of colour with wonderful contrasts can
 m a k e  my d a y.

Home backed pizza, Greek farm salad and a cold apricot pudding.
A menu not so fabulous or sophisticated either but delicious
and light enough for a hot day.

Life is like a rainbow, a colour wheel.
We have a colour wheel inside us.
There is the sun and the rain,
the sober and the bright,
the joy and the pain.
Each colour alone would be boring and incomplete,I think.

Sending sunny thoughts your way

Laundry in the garden

Having in mind to put a little order to a messy home and with
the leisure of a whole empty day, I chased the idea of drying
the handmade linen in the tumble dryer. Looking outside, I
realized how full of light and color these early summer
mornings are and how great it would be to let the fine linen
hang and air in the sun. By good luck, this inner garden
offers privacy, so the entire thing was ours! Capturing a
quiet moment, diving into garden’s loveliness, adjusting
the camera for a sunburnt landscape,

coming across the teenager who so
unexpectedly invigorated the scenery...

The laundry was ready in less than a quarter of an hour,
so e c o, so e a s y !
Happily for me there is a person available
to do the ironing, something I hate. Don't you?

The garden is at its best now, the lawn and the hedge look great,
the two lemon trees which risked exsiccating this winter sprouted
new leaves and the palm tree survived a serious disease
widespread in the Mediterranean zone. The burgundy colour
of the bougainvillea provides such a happy feeling and vitality
in a garden mostly green.

Lazy days are already here. The graduation is done,
time to wind down, thoughts of vacation are dancing around us.

Hope you are doing fine,
Sending you warm, sunny hugs
until next

Lunch al fresco

The Pentecost weekend
coincided this year with the start of June,
a short break to take advantage of. We had our first lunch on
the roof terrace where we recently covered the wooden pergola
with reed in order to have more shade and be able to have lunch
in the middle of the day. With soft sea breeze and moderate
temperature we enjoyed a delicious summer lunch listening to
our daughter’s favorite songs, ten times at least “the Heroes”
of  Måns Zelmerlöwa complete consolidation of the matter!

I decided to put the iron sofa at the head of the table so we
could easily lie down while gathering and feel cozier. Only a few
petunias, the jasmine and some daisies are in bloom now on
the veranda but ...

we felt in awe ...

discovering a beautiful yellow flower of our polka-dot-cactus.
Despite its cute name, the plant is poisonous and no way cuddly,
so the terracotta pot is displayed behind a wire mesh and the
flower wasn’t visible! Cacti give attractive and long-lasting blooms
but what is common is to buy them with fake flowers.

It’s the feeling on this veranda that makes me get excited
about summer as it always gives the illusion of
f r e s h n e s s …

Hope this summer will be a seasonable one!

I’m somewhat distanced from visiting blogs or popping over new
ones. Instagram and Pinterest have temporarily caught my interest.
It’s simply something new I’m trying to experience but I feel that
my place is here.

A promising season is all ahead, may we live it as desired.
Looking forward to hearing what you decided to do
this season and
thinking of you all

It's summer, hurray!
